FOV Takes Flight!

The Ann Jam made for an incredible weekend, not just because of the music and the memories, but because more alumni connected with each other than ever before. At Saturday’s brunch it was thrilling to hear Oscar Alcantara, iconic music director and FOV president, announce the formation of Friends of Veritones to the assembled Veritones. There was a palpable surge of excitement in the room, welcoming this permanent “home” for Veritones alumni.

Oscar then introduced FOV treasurer Judith Solberg, who explained FOV’s first major initiative: to establish an endowment fund that will help offset some of the current group’s annual expenses (see our giving page for FAQs and more). Within 48 hours of the brunch, Veritones alumni rallied to raise more than 45% of our $150,000 goal, proving that the time is right to build this foundation for the future.

Following the weekend, additional connections and offers of help have continued to roll in to FOV. As a result, FOV will be forming an advisory board to help push ahead with our mission to support and connect the current group and alumni. Stay tuned for announcements on this front as we define more details, and watch for fundraising updates on the FOV GiveButter page!
